Saga-Steads Documentary!

I am pleased to announce that Patrick Chadwick's documentary about my project, "Memories of Old Awake", was released by the University of Cambridge yesterday as part of their 'Cambridge Ideas' series. It was filmed in May in the West Fjords, and focuses on Gísla saga Súrssonar.

A short press release accompanies a link to the film on the University website here http://www.cam.ac.uk/research/video-and-audio/cambridge-ideas-memories-of-old-awake/

Or you can go straight to Vimeo to watch it here http://www.vimeo.com/29594820

Enjoy!

  2. The documentary is as enchanting as the project. I am sure you'll find your bliss during this pilgrimage. The mystic of the sagas and the dreamlike shots of Iceland encourage me even more to explore Iceland myself one day.
I wish you a lot of success!

    Best regards,
    Sabine

  3. Til hamingju Emily! Ég sá myndina á heimasíðu Cambridge Háskóla. Ég fæ heimþrá, þótt ég sé alin upp fyrir austan, ekki vestan! Mjög gaman að sjá lóuna vappa um í vor-hretinu.

Þú manst kannski eftir mér, en við spjölluðum nokkrum sinnum saman hér í Cambridge, í BMF ;) Ég heyrði líka viðtalið við þig á Rás 2 í sumar. Algert æði. Nú þarf ég að fara að lesa Íslendingasögurnar aftur, en ég hef ekki gert það síðan ég var unglingur.
